Giants select Kentrell Hill
The San Francisco Giants took
center fielder Kentrell Hill out of

The 6-foot, 175-pound Hill is a
talented, five-tool player who

He's a dangerous baserunner who has very good
range in the outfield. Hill sports a plus arm,
which has been clocked at 90 mph from the
mound and the outfield.
Hill, 20, is a 2009 graduate of tiny Ashdown
High School and was showered with numerous
awards.
He was named All-District three times, All-
Conference three times and All-State twice. He
was the 2009 MVP, All-Arkansas, and All-Ark LA
Tex (Texarkana Gazette). Hill was also a member
of his high school basketball team.
He attended Cisco (Texas)
Junior College as a freshman,
but transferred back to his
home state as a sophomore.
In 2011, the switch-hitting Hill
batted .402/.698/.482 (1.183
